PUPPP
Well, it's been another interesting week in the Oglesbee household! For some reason or another, I've contracted a rash known in the U.S. as PUPPP -- Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy -- which usually occurs towards the end of pregnancy, but I've been "lucky" enough to get it five weeks later. It's not a very common condition; it happens to about 1 out of every 140-260 women in their initial pregnancies. If you're interested (which I don't know why you would be), here's a website that tells all about the lovely condition: dermatology.about.com/cs/pregnancy/a/puppp.htm

However, itchiness and all, we had a very nice Memorial Day weekend. We were able to go up to northern Indiana and spend a day or two with each set of parents (Ian's grandparents). It was kind of an impromtu trip -- on Thursday night, we realized we had no plans for the weekend and the thought of staying at home all three days made us feel stir-crazy, so we decided to go visit our families again! It was really a lovely visit with both sets. Ian did much better schedule-wise this time, although, he seemed noticably glad to be home.

Today, Eric went back to work after the long weekend, and this evening, I start "working" for the first time since Ian was born! I'm currently only tutoring two students, but I hope to build up my clientele as the summer goes on. It will be nice to ease into working again. I'm looking foward to seeing how the summer unfolds!

Finally some sunshine
Wow, after what seemed like weeks and weeks of constant rain, we finally have some sun! Our garden sure appreciated the water, but now it's looking a little yellowed from lack of sun. Hopefully today will bring some life back into it.

I see it's been two weeks since I updated this thing, and that's probably because not a lot has happened to really talk about. Eric and I had our fifth anniversary a week ago today, and Ian had his first babysitting experience while we went out for Indian food and ice cream. All three of us had a fun time -- Eric and I on our little date, and Ian at our neighbors Fred and Carol's house. They almost didn't want to let him go back home with us because they had so much fun with him!

Last weekend, we took our first road trip up north to see the mothers/grandmas for Mother's Day. I also got to celebrate my first Mother's Day! Ian did really well travelling. He got a little off of his regular schedule, but we expected that. He had his first Bethel visit as well, on Monday while we were up in the South Bend area, and he slept through most of it. He wasn't too impressed yet. I guess college is a little far off for him to be excited about it.

So, we've been back home for a few days now, and are trying to settle into a routine again. Eric will be going back to work full-time next week, and I'll be home with Ian. I hope to start tutoring in the next couple of weeks again, but I really need to wait until I'm completely healed before that happens.

Well, Ian's ready for his lunch, and Eric needs help with the garage, so I'll end this thing now. I hope all of our family and friends are doing well and that God is blessing your lives as richly as He is ours!

Cinco de Mayo
Wow, it's the fifth of May already! Time sure is flying. Eric will be starting work again in ten days, and we're really enjoying the time he has off now that the spring semester is over (as of yesterday). Tomorrow, we're going to take a trip to the Bloomington Farmer's Market and pick up our garden plants. Hopefully, the weather will be good enough to plant the garden tomorrow, too.

Ian is doing very well and is already starting to grow. He's had a lot more awake time lately and is not nearly so sleepy. Today, he had tummy problems and was awake (rather unhappily, I'm afraid) from 8am to 3pm -- a time in which he normally gets two or three naps in. He should sleep well tonight, I hope! He's been doing really well in that department, too, and has been letting us get 5-6 hours in at a time at night. He really is such a good baby.

There are a couple more pictures up in his photo album on this website, so take a look and see how cute he is getting! We're pretty biased, of course, but we think he's getting cuter by the day.
